On a chilly January evening, AYCF Board members, committee chairs, and distinguished guests gathered at the Roesch residence to celebrate the successful completion of the first upwind leg of the AYC Foundation Velocity Campaign. More than $1M was raised in the first year of the five-year campaign and AYC Commodore Chris Bell was on hand to express his gratitude to Maggie Roesch for “inspiring the AYC Foundation to think bigger than ever before" and to thank the "Champions of Change" who filled the room. He shared these statistics:

  • 280 distinct contributors

  • $50K was the largest donation [aside from the Roesch $500K challenge], $5 was the smallest amount

  • 40 donated $5K+ (77% of the total)

Maintaining momentum. The second leg of the Velocity Campaign is underway with a course and speed to raise $5M by 2028. On March 14 we will host our large biennial fundraiser…a cocktail party and program called the AYC Foundation Fete & Auction.  In addition to enjoying delicious food, beverages and music you will hear from those who represent the three pillars of our mission:  Scholarships, 501(c)(3) Organizations and Amateur Sailing.  How can you help?  Watch for registration to open in a few weeks and buy lots of tickets to the event, become a sponsor or donate an item to our online auction.  Stay tuned for details.
