Sherwood Forest is a community that loves its woods and the water. The community also is dedicated to giving back, as evidenced at a fundraising event held recently. Community members were moved by the AYC Foundation's mission to provide scholarships to underserved youths interested in sailing and grants to maritime-related 501(c)(3) charitable and educational organizations as well amateur sailors competing at the highest levels. The Foundation's mission resonated with many as residents in this bucolic community contributed more than $100k for the Velocity Campaign on that balmy evening. The Foundation, and the sailors and organizations it supports, is grateful for the generosity of this special community.
